Day 6
Well...we made good progress today. On Sunday night, there were tornado's all over these parts. A series of tornado's cut a 1/4 mile wide swath some 30 miles long and damaged over one hundred houses. We also had one pass over our house but thank God it wasn't on the ground. Here's some pics of where we stopped. We've also hit white clay...as can be seen in the pic. I never knew clay could be so many colors.

Praise God We Got RAIN!
Praise God We Got Rain!
That's Right! We got hit by three massive storms last night and the tornado's managed to stay where the people weren't, so all is well. The good part is that here in the woods, we got right at an inch of rain, and boy was it welcomed. I checked the hole and there's no way we can work in it today, like I didn't already know that, but the wait is more than worth it. This should put the red flag burn ban's away for a bit and offer us all some relief from "that" worry. In light of having nothing to post as far as progress goes, I thought I would put up a pic of the job foreman.

Dig Day 5
Here we are on day 5 and making steady progress. These are pics throughout the day. Getting close to 4 feet... Halfway! We also started to run into some shale at 44" Deep.
The next few days call for some pretty bad storms, but as you can tell from the pics, we really could use the rain. Digging is like trying to cut through rock at this point. It is so dry that the snow had very little effect, and right now, we are some 14" below where we should be for rainfall. Am glad our pond and well are spring fed or we would be up a "dry" creek without a paddle...
